Laser Hair Removal

Question:- Why laser treatment? Answer:- The laser hair removal process offers safe, effective, affordable and comfortable solution to your unwanted hair needs. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which disables the hair follicle while leaving the surrounding skin unchanged. Traditional hair removal techniques such as shaving, plucking and waxing provides only temporary relief. Until the advent of the laser, the only permanent way to remove hair has been through electrolysis- which can be painful, time-consuming and is often limited to small cosmetic areas. Scarring, allergic reactions and ingrown hair can be occasional side effects of these hair removal methods. Our laser procedure safely removes unwanted hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Question:- What areas can be treated? Answer:- Because our laser treatments may be fine tuned for every client, almost every part of the body may be treated for unwanted hair. We can effectively treat women, men and teens. Females typically receive treatments to remove unwanted hair on the face, underarms, legs and bikini line. Common areas for men include shoulders, back, chest and between the eyebrows. Facial and bikini areas are usually completed in just a few minutes; legs and larger areas can take longer. If you seek treatment in other areas, feel free to discuss your needs with a Harmony Laser Center practitioner. Qustion:- Will it work for me? Answer:- In all probability, yes. But it won't work for everybody. It's important to know that the laser treatment only works on darker hair. If you'are looking to remove blond, white, gray, or red hair, electrolysis remains the best solution. The more contrast between the hair and skin color, the more efficient laser treatments are. The best results are with people with dark hair and light skin but effective treatments can also be accomplished for people with darker skin tones, using our prethetic Yag Laser Question:- Want a free clinical consultation? Answer:- We'would be happy to discuss your needs one-on-one in the privacy of our clinic. There is no charge for the consultation. We can discuss areas to be treated, treatment schedule, success likelihood and cost. A test-spot treatment may also be included as part of the free consultation. Just give us a call and we'will schedule an appointment for you. Question:- What does the treatment include? Answer:- A test area may be done prior to the first treatment. Your full treatment may be done the same day or up two weeks later, depending on the skin reaction. Both you and the practitioner will wear safety eye wear to protect the eyes from the laser light during the procedure. A small hand piece will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. A light spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse. Most patients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device. The degree of discomfort varies with each person. You may request a topical anesthesia, based on your individual preferences or tolerances. The procedure can take as little as a minute or up to an hour, depending on the area treated. The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment. This is not unusual and may last for few hours . If needed, this can be relieved with the application of ice or cooling gels. Question:- What precautions should be taken before and after the treatment? Answer:- Try to avoid a major suntan 4 - 6 weeks before and after treatment. You should avoid electrolysis, plucking or waxing hair for 6 weeks prior to treatment. If you have had a history of herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. If you have a dark skin type, a bleaching cream may be started 4-6 weeks before treatment to optimize results.

Hypertrophic Scars Or Keloidal Scars

A hypertrophic scar is a cutaneous condition characterized by deposits of excessive amounts of collagen which gives rise to a raised scar, but not to the degree observed with keloids.[1] Like keloids, they form most often at the sites of pimples, body piercings, cuts and burns. They often contain nerves and blood vessels. They generally develop after thermal or traumatic injury that involves the deep layers of the dermis and express high levels of TGF-β. All of us at some time or other face the problem of scars specially on the prominent areas . like face ,forearms, upper chest ,etc.Scientific basis : Why do we get scars ?In simple words to summarize ,scar basically is the body's way to repair the area where normal covering i.e skin is damaged. when we sustain injury body gets a message from the injured area in form of pain and body,s repair machanism is set to action.while the skin is being repaired it actually is over repaired sometimes so that scar grows more than the initial injury.we call this as keloid. normal repair leaves a spot or mark which is different than the surrounding color of skin either it can be dark or be light depending upon the injury 's nature.like burn marks when deep burn the melanin also so that area becomes lighter than surrounding skin.
